So here it is

I read on another person's blog an entry about LOVE ACTUALLY, one of the few chick flicks I actually enjoyed watching over and over again. In her blog she described one scene which really hit me as well. It was that scene where the actor tells the wife of the best friend about HIS secret feelings via "cardboards". The blogwritter, Abby, said:

He was being true to himself and that was his first step to the road of owning himself again. And she understood. He tells himself, “enough. That’s enough.”

In a recent, less extreme scenario, my dear friend advised me: "if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad." But when I wasn't man enough to say what needed to be said she goes: you shouldn't have deleted it. i mean, that's what you obviously wanted to say.

This entry is not in reference to that particular scenario, but my love scenarios in general. I wait too long, edit a lot, end up feeling absolutely sh*tty. And like what that character in that movie said, I also do it for self-preservation.

I heard a song while I was driving home last night and it struck me. Just thought of sharing.

I could keep on running now
I could keep on cheating death and yet somehow
It all ends up the same
And I don't want to be the one who's blamed

Can you see that I don't really have a choice at all
If only for a taste of flight
I'd gladly take the fall

So, I say I love you
I don't wanna wait forever
Just to say, I need you
Doesn't even have to matter
If it really matters anything to you

I'm falling like
I've never done so before
I'm flying against the wind
And here I go

So, I say I love you
I don't wanna wait forever
Just to say, I need you
Doesn't even have to matter
I don't wanna wait forever, no, oh oh (I say I love you)
So, while I can I'll take my chance
So, I'll say, I need you
Doesn't even have to matter
When I say...

I love you so
I need you
It doesn't really matter
If it really matters anything to you

I love you...

Hey Gomz,

Woah was I surprised to see my name on your blog. I read it all the time, thanks for the special mention. *smile*

Though I agree that we all need to be true to ourselves, I also think we should not become hasty with our actions to the point of self-indulgence. Especially when considering another person or people involved. Whatever the case may be.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there's nothing wrong with contemplating on the best form of action before taking the plunge. Sometimes we save ourselves loads of trouble when we do this. There's something noble about "self-preservation" that's why I mentioned it in my blog, but thats just my opinion.

However, if after putting enough thought into the situation and you realize that you are still willing to do the bold move, then I think you should go ahead and do just that. Nobody enjoys thinking about "what ifs.."
